Better Choices: Voting System Alternatives for Nova Scotia

About the Project

Better Choices is a discussion paper that models how five different voting systems could work in Nova Scotia. The paper was written to support a series of public engagement events where Nova Scotians were invited to help Springtide identify the best voting system for the Nova Scotia. The paper was published in the Spring of 2016. The paper was sponsored by the Democracy 250 Youth Engagement Legacy Trust. The paper was originally published here.

My Role

I was the lead author for the paper, with significant support in the form of guidance and research from Matt Risser, Angela Hersey, and Marla MacLeod.

Media Coverage

During the Spring of 2016, I spoke with CBC Cape Breton for a five-part interview series on the systems explored in the paper.
