Book Pub: Why did the NDP fall in Nova Scotia?

About the Event

In the 2009 provincial election, the New Democratic Party won a majority government. It was the first time any party other than the Liberals or Conservatives held power in the province’s history. The NDP lost power in the very next election (2013). This made them the province’s first single-term government in over a century.  Graham Steele and Howard Epstein were both a part of that government. Each has written a book offering their own account of that government’s rise to power, and its downfall.  Their books offer an insider’s look at Nova Scotia politics. The authors disagreed on why the party failed to win re-election.

In 2015, Springtide invited both authors to a book pub: an opportunity to have a drink, share their reflections, and debate with one another in a crowded bar.
